Client: Diocese of Westminster
Project value: £2.09 mil
Completion: January 2015
DHP have worked with the Diocese of Westminster since 1986 and our interdisciplinary design teams have implemented a large number of projects across their school estate, achieving continued best value, tight cost control and high quality with a rigorous full design and competitive procurement approach.
To help accommodate the expanding school population in West London, DHP have been working in partnership with the Diocese and the London Borough of Ealing to deliver their joint basic need expansion programme. This has seen the creation of 1,050 Catholic state primary school places across five schools since 2011.
Most recently, the expansion of St Raphael’s Catholic Primary School, Northolt (West London) from two to three-form-entry has been completed via a new building with a build cost of a very competitive £1,400/m2. DHP achieved a very buildable, high quality design, proving that a 60+ year lifespan traditional build (concrete floors, masonry walls, suspended ceilings, full plaster finish) can be delivered for less than many modular alternatives. The building is in no way a compromise and provides a very high quality learning environment that is easily adaptable into the future.
