Grayswood CofE Infant School

Client: Governors of Grayswood C of E Infant School / Guildford Diocese Board for Education

Project value: £170,000 (2007) and £370,000 (2004)

Completion: November 2007 / September 2004

This ever popular village green school was delivering education in woefully inadequate facilities, with a significant lack of space including no hall or staffroom, deficient reception classbase, undersized office accommodation and unsafe kitchen servery arrangements.

In 2004 the first phase of the DHP development plan was completed with the addition of brand new spacious hall accommodation and a new kitchen servery.  Released space within the existing school building was refurbished and reconfigured to provide the much needed reception classbase.  A second phase of work, completed in 2007, saw the addition of a new main school office, head's office and staffroom, together with circulation and accessibility improvements.

The school has been transformed with light bright spacious and welcoming new accommodation, which has been designed to blend in with the attractive original building on this very sensitive site.
