St Michael C of E Infant School

Client: Guildford Diocese Board for Education / Governors of St Michael C of E Infant School

Project value: £445,000 (phase 3)

Completion: June 2010

DHP have been working with the Governing Body of St Michael’s C of E Infant School for many years and are implementing a multi-phase development plan to improve the accommodation as and when funding permits.  We have completed a number of extensions, including hall, staffroom, teaching and toilet accommodation, which has completely transformed what was a very small single classroom village school.

The latest piece of the jigsaw is a much-awaited main entrance extension, which provides a welcoming and prominent main entrance, together with a visitor reception, office and accessible toilet accommodation.  This extension, and those previously, have been sympathetic to the original handsome school building with elevations in brick and pebbledash render beneath clay tiled roofs; The latest extension also boasts an oak framed porch which  provides a focal point for visitors ascending from the Village below.
